Above is a collection of photos that I've taken over the last 6 months when it's been raining (and with my luck, it was bucketing down). Was this going to stop me from taking photos? Absolutely not! When I purchased my previous pride and joy (the Mazda 3) I had it ceramic coated and it always intrigued me how the water droplets sat on the car and beaded down the paint work any time it rained.

The shoot above with the E46 BMW wasn't actually supposed to be in the rain. I had the shoot booked weeks in advance and it just so happened to be pouring rain on the day that we were going out. That wasn't going to stop me, I was waiting for a day where it was raining so I could venture into the city and take photos in the rain, and this was finally that day! It actually turns out that combining the rain on the car and light painting with a torch creates some incredible and unique photos.
Some of these were taken during the dry season, and this kind of look can be semi-achieved with a fine mist spray bottle on the areas of the car that you're photographing. So even if it's not pouring rain, you can still semi recreate that "freshly rained" look on the paintwork and it turns out pretty much the same in the final photos.
